Two weeks two go.  :)
“instinctive archery” is more like playing the violin. Without practice you may remember the mechanics, but you will not be a virtuoso.

Been ready since... well the end of deer season on Jan 1st!

Was hoping to have the Whisperstik demo for a few hunts, but looks like it may end up here a little early.  More importantly, my boy will be going on his first hunt or 10.   :D   I think I am almost as excited as him.

Stay safe and Happy Hunting!

May 1st here in N.Y. I hoping to get some Mojo from this Hill's Hornet........
Someday you and I will take the Great Hart by our own skill alone, and with an arrow. And then the Little Gods of the Woods will chuckle and rub their hands and say, "Look, Brothers. An Archer! The Old Times are not altogether gone!"

We had last Friday off, so her Ladyship and I planned on visiting our daughter and son at school in Eureka, a six-hour drive from the Sacramento area.  We're entering Mendocino county when I spy a huge tom in full strut, right beside the road!!  As I slam on the brakes, and make a u-turn, I'm thinking "wow!  I have my cammies and stuff in the truck-I can put the sneak on him right now".  That was the plan, until it was pointed out that the season begins Saturday, and today was Friday.  so much for the best-laid plans of mice and hunters!!

I too have 2 weeks to go.
Went to OJAM last weekend.  As I was going through Kansas early on Thursday morning, saw a nice flock of about 40 birds just off the highway.  3 Toms in full strut in that group.  I gotta tell ya, my husband said that from that point on all the conversation was gonna stop and that I would be watching out all the windows for birds the rest of the trip.    He was pretty close to right on there!  I told him they were flaunting all those tail feathers at me..... He wasn't convinced.
