Selway slide on- leave on all season?
« on: February 19, 2019, 04:37:39 PM »
Curious how many of you leave your slide on Selway quivers on all the time. I don’t want to mess with taking it off for storage and travel and shoot with it on anyway to get used to the weight and sight picture. Wondering if I should trade it for a strap model though.

I leave mine on all the time. The only time mine come off is when flying.

Some bow woods fade or discolor with sunlight. Have seen bows that the quiver was left on year round get a "stripe" on the limbs with clear glass that may be noticeable...…………..YMMV
Bowhunting is "KILL and EAT" not "Catch and Release".....Semper Fi!

Interesting point. Didn’t really think about that.

The only time I put mine on is a week or so before season until season is over.  Then I take it off. The quiver does add a little heft and helps quiet the bow, but since I use a side quiver when target shooting and a back quiver when stump shooting, I really don't need it on the remainder of the time.

I use my Push Alpha Pack target and stumping but usually like to have a broad head on for coyotes so I have at least one arrow in my quiver all summer. If I had a broad head insert for my Alpha Pack I probably wouldn’t keep it on off season as much.

Mine doesn't come off, but I only shoot from it during hunting season, I keep it full or almost full off season and shoot from a hip quiver.

I leave mine on all year round. It's what I hunt with so I figure it's probably best to practice with the same setup that I'm hunting with. Plus it's just kind of a pain to take off.

Mine don't come off either. I see no point in removing them.

I'm a leave it on all season guy. It's my preference on bow set up for hunting and practice.

I find that taking my quiver off (Great Northern bolt on side quiver) dramatically affects everything from my sight picture to where the arrow goes. I never take it off for that reason. Just want to keep things consistent and practice in the off season for the season.

It is staying on my one piece longbow at this point.  Once I get a takedown that I can use for work travel I will get a strap model to make things easier.
