Does this sound weird?
« on: April 02, 2008, 04:31:00 PM »
Hey guys,
I shoot a 55# recurve at 28" and first tried axis 400's with 225 grains up front, the arrows were 29.5" long and the nock on a bare shaft shot was swinging way to the left, I then went to 2018s with 125 up front and a full length nocked way left with a bare shaft so I cut a little at a time all the way down to 28.5" with the same results each time.  I then tried a 29" 2219 with 125 up front and they fly almost perfect.  Wouldn't you think the 2219s would be way stiff?  Am I way off on something?

Perfect arrow flight is perfect arrow flight.

You've obviously invested serious time and money. If the 2219's shoot, then that's what I'd shoot.

The side plate being too thin might be the cause of your wierd findings.

I have experienced the same thing with bows that are cut past center.  I just shoot em with the heavier spined arrows.  Works out good for me cause I like a heavy arrow.  If you want to shoot the lighter spines you could always build out the side plate...Mike

I tnink a lot has to do with our release, no two people shoot the same. we can have 5 people with almost the same lb bows at about the same draw, and no two will shoot the same arrow. As JH said perfect is perfect.
