Eagles flight mini quiver
« on: March 03, 2019, 11:26:19 AM »
This is directed at those of you who shoot/ hunt with Java Man bows. I am contemplating on a getting a three arrow “minimalist”quiver with strap on. How does it work ? Are the arrows stacked vertically at right angles from the bow?
Compatible with a 52” bow? ( Helms Deep)? Last question can you invert the arrow as accomodate judos /blunts?
I currently have a Great Northern that I hunted and stump shot for many years but I never liked the weight on the side that much. Also I have a short recurve which I am really liking.  Thanks for reading.

I would call Don and ask him directly what he would recommend based on what you're looking for.

I'm running an Eagle's Flight 3 arrow minimalist quiver on a Cari-bow 58" Wolverine.  It's a nice quiver, although I wish is was NOT as large as it was made to be.  When ordered I specified that I'd be using Grizzly Grande broadheads, which are fairly narrow.  What was sent to me is a broadhead quiver large enough to accommodate the largest  (widest) Simmons Sharks broadheads.  The quiver could have been made narrower to accommodate my needs.  Actually the finish product is not much smaller than a GN Small Fry cup type with the foam insert. I already had one of those and had I known how large the danged thing turned out to be I'd not have purchased it.  Aside from the excessive size, the quiver is well made and the improved attachment mechanism does a pretty fair job of attachment.  There is an option that makes use of what looks to be a center section of arrow that attaches both sides of the quiver together.  That option looks like it has some merit in that it would prevent each side of the quiver from riding away from the riser section of the bow.
Nice quiver but I wish, for my application it was made an inch narrower.
Star shooter, since you mentioned dissatisfaction over the weight of the quiver you already have, I just weighed my quiver so you can compare the two.  For just the broadhead side of the quiver my Eagle's Flight comes in at 136 grams and the Small Fry comes in at 140 grams.  Your mileage may vary but 4 grams net savings is not very much benefit considering the price.  Admittedly the Eagle's Flight 3 arrow is about 1 inch thick and the Small Fry is about 2.75 inches thick so there is a reduction in net size favoring the Eagle's Flight.  There you have it..... :dunno:

Thanks Mike! I still wonder how the arrows are stacked in an inch wide quiver.
I see the pics on their website but they don’t show the three dimensionality.
My bow has deflected riser & I was wondering if 52” could accomodate this.
Still no Java man shooters replying...? The photos seem to show them with quivers.. thanks again.
Terry I am waiting on hearing from Don.Thanks.

The EFA 3 arrow Mini measures 2 x 2.25 inches at the foam surface and 2 inches in depth. It weighs about 3.2 ounces and is designed to be the lightest weight of it's type. It is made for small to medium length two blade broadheads. Occasionally someone will use them for ,3 blades, but that is a stretch.
Mike, it sounds like you are describing the 3 arrow Mesa.

Don , there are three attachment options listed for this quiver. The step back, mounted and “bare”. As I previously mentioned my bow is very short 52 “ and has dramatic deflected handle / riser. There is only room for 11 “ . My arrows are 28” von to bop. So am I correct in thinking top grip is all that is necessary?
Thanks.

Charles, there are 3 attachment options for the EFA quivers. The Talon Grip (wrap) is the most popular. It wraps securely around the limbs at the fade outs. The Limbs Bolt model is a leather covered aluminum right angle bracket with sides of about 2x2". It fastens to the bow by means of the limbs bolts of a takedown bow. The Side Mount is about a 3" leather covered bracket designed to attach to a bow that has side mount inserts. Bows with extremely short risers are a challenge.

I'm not sure what you meant by top grip being all that is necessary. Both the hood and arrow gripper attachments are important to hold the arrows securely to the bow.  :archer2:

Oops! I said it wrong in an earlier post. The EFA "Mini" quiver weighs in at about 4 ounce. That is still very lightweight.
