Arrow point tapering jigs
« on: August 08, 2019, 10:19:03 AM »
Anybody have pictures and or plans for a point tapering jig for a disc sander or tablesaw, they would not mind sharing? I'm tired of my marginal setup, looking for something fast and accurate. Obviously for woodies.

I figured some of the more primitive guy's like Pat and Eric, not to mention Bue, would probably use homemade jigs.

Thanks Roy, couple of good ones in that thread. I did do a google search, but I didn't go deep.
I have one of those Tru taper tools also, but the problem for me is I make my shafts to hit the desired spine, irregardless of diameter. I end up with a lot of variation in diameter.
Is it just me, or do those photo bucket pics SUCK! I hate that damn logo obscuring the pictures.

I had better luck with the cheap pencil sharpeners type than the TruTaper I had when I was using POC shafts. I gave it away. I never could get it to work right. Since I started making hardwood shoots and cane arrows I started using my belt/disc sander with a jig similar to the ones in the link.

Some of my picture are like that but I did not pay them any money.
I would rather fail at something above my means, than to succeed at something  beneath my means
