After you get the wax off the bow, consider not waxing the part of the string that touches the bow. Wax on the part of the string that touches the bow causes wax buildup on the bow, as you already know, and contributes to string slap noise.This topic caused a minor uproar in some other posts a while ago, and I have no desire to restart that battle. I don't try to remove the wax that is already on the ends of the string; I just don't add anymore. Works for me, but YMMV.
