Here's a little story of victory for me..versus my Ed Holcomb 59' Kodiak..!
I have 2 of them...one a whisper quiet 51# 1960 Kodiak repro...and one a 1959 47# Kodiak..I got both about 10 years ago. The bow in question is my 59er..at 47# it's a real rocket launcher, but just plain old buzzy/noisy..! I've shot various 14 and 16 strand B-50 and B-55 flemish and endless loop strings. BUZZ..!!!! Numerous fastflight varients..both skinny..8 strands...to fatter..16 strands....BUZZ..! A LOUD BUZZ..! Now..shooting 3 under contributes some....but it dosent over affect my other bows..just this one.?
Enter my one shooting buddy who picked up 2 spools of 450+ string material. Said.."try it"..so I did. VIOLA...for the first time EVER, that old noisy 59' shut right up..! A 3 bundle 15 strand string...flemish twist. And 2 wool yarn puffballs. Just a quiet little tump. Loops were padded. After YEARS of trying bowhush and various other silencers, VICTORY.!!! Just too happy for words. Love the bow...now even more. Anyone else have success with 450+...???
