Robert Holloway (Son of Texas) was the winner of the New Member drawing Terry graciously sponsored which provided free admission to the 2008 Texas Sweat, which is where Robert took the fine hog he's pictured with. Thanks Terry, I don't know that you could have picked a more appreciative recipient.

Congratulations Robert, enjoy your week of fame. Please share your story with the rest of the family. I'm sure glad I was there to hear it first hand!

" I'm about tickled **itless"

Best memory of the Sweat, was Robert's hog recovery. You've never seen a person so happy to see a hog!

That Robert is a real Texican and a hoot in camp. He had some close encounters with BIG pigs and cracked me up when he told how glad he was that they took off. On one occasion he dropped one with a varmint call. This one he arrowed, nice harvest Robert!

Gongrats again Robert.  I spent the Sweat hunting with Robert.  We had a good week together and I would recommend Robert as a good partner to hunt with as you will find.  Time for you to share your story about this nice pig.

I think Robert bringing it that hog was about the most exciting part of a great week!  It was so cool watching him walk around camp the rest of the day without his feet ever touching the ground and grinning like the cat that swallowed the canary!  :readit:

Well I just got back from Louisiana chasing turkeys
and turned on the computer an saw my Picture up top Thanks I don't know about being deserving but thanks. This was my first Traditional bow hunt with other traditional hunters and it was everything that I dreamed it would be. Missouri Sherpa and I scouted out some wind mills and found an overflow pond with hog signs everywhere. we decided to hunt at night under a full moon. the first thing that showed up was a coyote John took a look shot and missed, a little while later a big black hog about the size of a volkswagon walked up I made a bad shot got about eight inches of penatration found part of the arrow no blood. The next night I hunted the water hole by myself about thirty minutes before dark a sow and some little one came in she was real nervous she did not give me a shot. I don't remember what the time was it had'nt been dark over an hour or so when I heard barbwire streching I started getting alittle nervous well maybe a whole lot nervous hog started  coming from everywhere after what seemed like an hour I got my nerves settled down and took a shot at what looked liked a nice one pigs went everywhere. after a little while John came to check on me, we started looking we found  alittle blood where I hit him and that was it, I was very disappointed and discouraged we decided to wait and look in the morning. Needless to say I was very excited when we found it. This was my first big game kill. There ,s not enough room or time to thank everyone, But I do want to thank Terry and all of TradGang for all you do and Curtis, Pop, Charlie, Shaun, and everyone at Sweat for making me feel special, and for John Berger for taking me under his wing and helping make my hunt sucessful. Earlier I mentioned that John missed a long shot on a coyote, well he made up for it with along shot on a pig a few days later. Thanks for giving me such a Great time. I hope to share a campfire with ya'll again.

Great going Robert, enjoyed hearing (reading) about it again! Hope you enjoyed the pork chops as much as you seemed to enjoy hunting it. I hear those Volkswagons are tough to clean and you never can get'em tender enough to eat.

Great going!
