The Crush Velvet Rush
« on: August 16, 2019, 09:12:14 PM »
The season opener here in Kentucky is closing in quickly. The opportunity for a velvet buck is brief as
many dream of striking gold.

One of my lease trad hunters is traveling 8 hours to fulfill that dream opening weekend.

Please chime in to share your burning desire to harvest a crush velvet buck.

I’m also looking for a Kentucky velvet buck in the very near future! It would be my first trad kill, so hopefully the wind is right and the planets align!  :goldtooth:

Friend, I saw the Slaughters sign as I drove up 69 to Henderson today and thought of you and all your off-season work. Tomorrow’s the big day!

To all you Kentucky Trad Gangers, good luck this weekend! Keep the wind in your face and shoot straight!

SlowBowKing...the gate is a 7 1/2 mile straight shot from the exit.

Does and fawns from 8 to 10 yards...no velvet

Plenty of heat this week...will bushhog and disk.

I had never even heard of Slaughters before I saw your locale...had to Google it.

Saturday was a no show on the deer for me. Saw plenty of squirrels, but nothing on four hoofs. Hoping the wind is right tomorrow afternoon since I’ll be off work.
