Equipment for 4H archery program
« on: October 21, 2019, 02:23:47 PM »
I just got a call from a friend of ours down in south Texas.  He finished his coaches training course for 4H and is organizing the club.  He thought he'd have 4-5 kids interested and has 15.  Does anyone know where to get some kids bows on the cheap?  He starting with nothing and not much of a budget.

Let me know if you have any leads on anything.

Thanks,

Mike

The Compton organization has helped many groups like that with equipment.  Contact their youth program director.
The years accumulate on old friendships like tree rings, during which time a kind of unspoken care and loyalty accrue between men.

Check with your Division of Wildlife, some of them help with kids programs with funding and equipment.

I could pitch in a bunch of free stuff- like armguards, gloves and the like. Let me know....

Update:

We are getting quite a few donated bows and lancaster has offered to sell us what we need at cost.  Will be running a "fund me" for them on Facebook as soon as we understand what we need to buy.

Thanks,

You could consider doing what we did with Boy Scouts.  Teach them to build their own bows. It isn't that hard and then they really own their bow.
