I love it, mate.

When I first started, just finding game and getting inside 200 yards was a rush, and with this goat, I got into about 60 yards easily and that's when the hunt started.

Those dang goats made me look pretty stupid when I was over there. Ask Ozzy Clint, he’ll tell ya!!!! I blame it on not having practiced shooting upside down, seeing as how I was on the other side of the world!!!!

They're fun animals to chase for sure. I cut my teeth on them when I first started rifle hunting and put plenty of them in my freezer. Funnily enough, when I first picked up a compound bow, I could never make it happen on the goats, so this billy is the only one I've killed with a bow of any sort.

The farmer at another one of my favourite properties let me know that the billy goats are moving through their place again. On that property, they're fairly seasonal for whatever reason. I was chasing them a lot last summer but couldn't quite get things to go my way. This summer will be different. However, I'm conscious of the fact that most farmers these days are rounding them up and selling them, so if this farmer decides to do that, I'll be very selective in which ones I may decide to shoot.

Thanks, mate.

Yes, the video took a bit of time; both at home, and in the field. It's a pain but the more you do when you're out in the field, the easier life is when you get home. I'll get better the more I do it, but as much as I enjoy being a solo hunter, I like taking mates out as well so I can focus on camera duties while they hunt.

In the next couple of months I'll make a heaps of videos about cooking, hunting philosophy, gear, etc. It'll be easier if I move house soon! :)

Thanks very much, fellas.

I did spend some time getting some decent photos and I'm pleased with the one earlier in this thread. In the hot sun, looking at the back of the camera screen had me feeling the shadows were too harsh, so I dragged him back into the shade where he passed to get some more photos. I sit a bit awkwardly but here's another one for the sake of it.

I like the first one because you're looking me in the eyes,,,, the 2nd has a better animal and bow profile and if you use the 2nd for a wall pic that would be cool..   if I had my choice I'd take the 1st pic..

good job though,,,, you broke the sacred ice as they say here so we'll be waiting for more photos.... I love seeing pics about DIY (do it yourself) hunts from other countrys and regions stuff I'll never get to experience so keep em coming!

I prefer the first picture as well.

Taking pictures in the middle of the day is difficult and sometimes I'm so hyped up on adrenaline after a shot, I do silly things and the pictures don't turn out too well. With this goat I had the luxury of time as I was never going to eat him.
