elk success

Hi All
It's been awhile since I've been on the Tradgang site.  Last Feb I turned my left shoulder into mashed potatoes.
Thing is I have a black belt in karate, I white water kayak 40 - 50 days a year, I've shot trad bows for 25 years and I trashed it shoveling snow as a favor for a retired 72 year old NUN!
Because I could not shoot and did not know if I ever would (I really could not even hold a 1.5# long bow up) I lost interest....  But after 7 months of daily rehab, stretching and exercise I can finally shoot again (but only down hill)
       Enough whining...
I scouted my elk hunting area and found an active trail going to water.  I hung a tree stand and sat that stand in the evenings.  On the 5th day this spike came by.. He stopped and 6 yards and starred at me for "ever" then decided I was nothing, he turned broad side.  I pick a hair and shot.
A 6 yard shot. He walked 100 yards and piled up.
54# pronghorn long bow
125gr Woodsman broad head.
Gold tip shaft, 100gr brass inset.
4 - 4" yellow feathers.

 pronghorn long bow  54#
 black widow long bow 55#
 21 century long bow 55#
 big horn recurve  58#

Congratulations, on a fine critter.

You done good...really good!
The broadhead used, regardless of how sharp, is nowhere as important as being able to place it in the correct spot.
