Best is in the eye of the beholder, but check out Surewood shafts.com, then you decide.

We believe that not only are the Surewood Shafts the best Douglas Fir, but the best wood shafting available.

Just bought 2 doz. of the surewoods, I sure hope they are as good as people say. I do know that fir is a tough wood and these seem to be made right.

Hey Rick,
I've got about 3 or 4 dozen doug firs I'm working on right now. I turned them with the dowel cutter and can't believe how straight they came out. Working on a taper jig to get them turned down to size.

I have to agree, Surewood makes the best shafts bar none and Doug Knight is a super guy to work with. You won't be disappointed with Surewood shafts.
