Oddest deer I ever encountered.

I have yet to take a deer with recurve and had yet another one close, but not legal.  Here in PA we need to have at least three antler points on one side.  Or be a doe, with tag for such.
This is with my phone camera at about 15 feet.  He actually walked to the ladder before turning to walk behind the tree propping up my stand.

Take a look at the corkscrew right antler and then the missing left front foot.  Foot is completely healed so either hit by a car or just genetics.  And the antler is even left-hand thread.

Actually I live less than a mile from Three Mile Island but hunt in Perry County.

I’ve always heard that an injury to the legs will typically result in a malformed antler on the opposite side.

He was the third deer that I have had walk to the base of my stand and sniff my "recycled coffee".

You see amazing things if you spend enough time. Always amazes me. I’ve seen 3 legged deer before, crazy malformed horns. Fest to me and I don’t have a pic handy but was an elk I was mounting.
The left side if I recall correctly had a down turned pedical. This made the horn grow sideways n down. It was so rolled over it was really hard to skin as there was no room for even the smallest scalpel blade. If I find a pic when I get home I’ll post it

Ha!  The old “recycled coffee” trick really works.  Also, I hunt a couple miles from your house.  There and some big deer moving around right now.
