I got my first ILF setup recently and MOSTLY like it. It's the Samick Discovery metal riser with carbon limbs.
I'm used to shooting longbows and wood recurves and the grip on this thing is killing me. Truthfully, I get more of my hand on the grip than a "proper" recurve grip. I never have liked that thumb pad and forefinger grip that the books recommend.
This grip is small, flat on the back, and has no palm swell like I like. I've looked online for a replacement but have not found one yet that says it will fit. The problem is I shoot much like Terry Green in that my draw, anchor and release is in one slow fluid motion, and this grip is letting the bow move out of position, messing my timing up.
Any thoughts? I really don't want to change the way I hold a bow. I'm a pretty good shot with my other bows.
