Clint... that looks fantastic!
I have a couple of Osage logs that are similar in diameter to what you used. We dug them up on one of the farms I hunt while I was helping the landowner replace fence. His story was that his grandfather built the original gate corners they came out of nearly 100 years ago. I sure hope that you believe that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery because I am going to copy your amazing idea.
Did you just use sandpaper to get that finish?

Keith, I used a drawknife and a palm sander on it. Let me know how yours turn out.

Would you call that spalted
That's just cracking from it drying out. Spalting is caused inside the wood from two or more fungal and/or bacterial colonies colliding and emmitting chemical barriers to protect their boundaries which stain the wood like analine dyes. Also sometimes wormy woods can get debrit/wase in them which will suck through the tubules of the wood and create a staining very similar to spalting which is often confused with the chemical spalting from fungal/bacterial staining.
Beautiful bow rack! I really like the character that the cracking adds.
