Grizzly Stik Alaskan ???

Been thinking of trying these for an upcoming hunt.  Here's my setup Massie Longhorn 57#@27" which is my draw D97 string 150gr. broadhead. Looking for finished wt. 600-650gr. I don't have a way to cut them so would like suggestin's on what lenght to order. Anybody shoot anything simialer. Thanks Marty

Mine measure 30 3/4" and have the brass insert.  They weigh about 470-475 grains without points.  To spine correct in my bow whicch is shooting around 60# @ 29.5 I can only have 125 grain tips.  I'm far from an expert but I would think you could shoot 28 inch arrows with your 150grain broadheads and be in the ballpark.  Bear in mind that the weight for these shaft varies between batches.

Arrow spine is dependent on draw length, draw weight and the amount of center cut on your riser.

Same person shooting same weight/draw length of a bow that is AMO (?) legal at 1/8" shy of center will take a different, (lighter) spine than an exact same bow/draw weight and draw length of a riser (like BW and MOrrison I know of) that are cut PAST center (requiring heavier spine arrow).

If you can't cut them you really can't tune them. Maybe Ed at Alaska can guide you; but in my opinion you are wasting your time and money. But that is just my opinion.
You can buy a carbon cutting 'wire' for a hacksaw for a couple of dollars, or the proper blade for a chop saw for a few dollars more, again ask Ed at Alaska to help you out. They also sell a 'tuning kit' which is a good idea.
Grizzlysticks are a great shaft but they require tuning like any other shaft if you want good flight.

True enough, Bjorn...but length is only one way...too long means they'd be "weak". So to stiffen spine you can shim out side plate for the same effect, right... :)I used layers of elect. tape till I figured which way I needed to go and then started cutting...

If ya know how much center cut there is on the Massie, or lack of it, that would help you know if its a lot, (like BW/Morrison) you will need way stiffer'n the draw weight might indicate...

If it's less than center or AMO, 1/8" shy, then you can figure on em requiring closer to what your draw weight might suggest... fwiw.
