I managed to trash my OSS, I have a small shop, and my OSS sits on a Black and Decker workmate, in front of the overhead garage door, which during cold weather rarely gets opened. So it ends up with all sorts of stuff leaning against it, like a sheet of 3/4" plywood etc. I was coming in from outside and opened the door, forgetting I had that plywood there, and as the door went up I hear what sounded like a train crash from inside the shop. Plywood fell over, knocked over a stepladder, as my sander. It was an old Central Machinery unit with a real nice heavy cast iron table. It hit the floor and bent the spindle shaft and jacked it all up. ITs toast. Now Im not out much as I bought it at a garage sale for $25. But now I gotta get a new one. So Im dead in the water for a lil bit. I can use my drill press with a sanding drum, but my jigs I made for sanding my risers are all built around my OSS, and will not work using drill press for a couple reasons I wont bore you with. So Im not too happy. Along with that, Im having binding problems with my table saw when tryinh to cut riser blocks down to size. Ive checked everything for square etc, Im thinking its just the blade but idk. Frustrations of older tools I guess.
