Took my 14 yr old daughter out this morning. She wanted to run camera. Birds close on the roost, but they live near public hunting, so they are VERY call and decoy shy. Dad did have a jake try to mount his deke this am. He unloaded his quiver and came up empty handed.
Molly and I located a small group and were able to use the creek to get close, but when I peaked over the edge, the toms had reversed direction and were moving away.
Hope to get back out before scatterguns hit the field next week. I also have some plastic/silk ivy on order to tie into my ghillie suit. Hoping to take it to the next level.
