Public Archery Range
« on: June 16, 2020, 09:03:17 AM »
Me and my wife went camping at Patoka Lake in Southern Indiana, I decided to take my Striker Longbow and make use of the public archery range they have a available.

That is a very nice looking range.  Nothing like that anywhere near me.   :archer2:

Kenny, I’ve hunted right around that range. Right across the street the range is on is good hunting. They usually have corn or beans planted there

There are beans planted there this season and there was a nice buck with a decent sized rack out in the field this morning, in fact we saw quite a few deer this morning as we were riding around the property. If you come back to hunt again this year let me know, I may try to join you for a couple days.

That's a mean looking bow!

I shot there a couple years ago and was taken aback by how nice and big it is! And I saw a turkey blind set up in a field right across the road, during youth season. There’s also a good outdoors shop nearby, in Jasper, Great Outdoors.

I really like the look of that bow! And I don’t even need to ask how it shoots.

I’ve never hunted here, I’m sure it gets some pressure during deer and turkey season, but it would make for a nice hunt this fall, I can pull out of my drive and be at the entrance here in about an hour.

That's a big improvement over when I lived in Evansville in the early 1960s.We had a Putt Putt golf course that had a range where you shot at balloons. For a quarter you got 12 arrows and every time you hit a balloon you got 3 more arrows. In several years of shooting there I can't ever remember running out of arrows.

There weren't any deer around the area then where we hunted near Folsomville, but there were lots of rabbits. How far is Folsomville from the range?

Folsomville is probably 45 minutes from the range
