Baltimore Bowmen Traditional Classic - UPDATE
« on: July 15, 2020, 09:40:52 PM »
Rescheduled a while ago to later in August from it's usual mid-May weekend the shoot has now been totally flushed for 2020. Lord willing come May 2021 it'll be back on. Here's the narrative from the club's FB page:

Just to let everyone Baltimore Bowmen has to cancel our Baltimore Bowmen Traditional Classic this year. With the high increase numbers of Corvid cases the club didn’t want to take a chance that may come in contact with the virus.
We hope that things will return to normal by next May. Our shoot always falls on the weekend after Mother’s Day
Here’s a little entertainment to remember our club in these scary times. Please pass the word
God Bless and stay Safe.

I'm sorry to see this but not surprised. I do think it is the wisest decision.  As much as I love this shoot, I had not planned to attend this year.  My wife and I are well into the "senior" years and she has some compromised health issues, so it wasn't a go for us.
The years accumulate on old friendships like tree rings, during which time a kind of unspoken care and loyalty accrue between men.

Baltimore in August would not be pleasant, it was in the mid 90's yesterday. The demonstrations need to cool down too. Next May sounds better for numerous reasons.
There is no great fun, satisfaction, or joy derived from doing something that's easy.  Coach John Wooden
