I put it on as high as I can, put on cap and push it as far as I can and double check that it is as tight as I can get it.  There is a gap on the post which might be my whole problem. I am not getting rid of it yet.

Are you using slightly soapy water on your bow limbs during the slide down?

You might try inserting a small leather or rubber shim in the slot on the side opposite the knob such that when you tighten the knob, it will be tight against the limb.

Terry, no I do not use soapy water to slide it up

Make sure the inside of the slide slot is clean of dirt or dust, and then take water and a little dish washing liquid and add it to the limbs both side.

Now slide it as far as you can and then tighten it.

See what happens as that's what I did on one of my longbows with a Selway Slide On and it never moved for 6 years.
