Bare shaft nock high

I am really nock high on my bare shaft but strait with feathers. If I lower my nock down to where bare shafts are strait. Its bouncing off the riser. Any help appreciated. (Split finger)

i am always of the mind of not reading the arrow after it enters the target. That is, I make bare shaft adjustments based on what I see in flight, not how the shaft looks at the target.

That said, one of the best bare shaft tutorials was done by Ken Beck of Black Widow. He asserts that some folks can not get rid of nock high flight regardless of nock position. Start high and bring it down bit by bit until you hit as close to the sweet spot as you can get. You could be torquing a bit on the string causing a "false" nock high reading.

depends on how far you are away from the target, i bare shaft out to about 25 yds.
i feel that gives me enough information for tuning, if i have just a tad knock high at that distance i dont worry about it.
you might try turning your knock, might help.
 i dont think you can really bare shaft tune at a close distance.

If it was me I wouldn't do anything, you could lower your nocking point or if your point weight is over 200gr you might not be able to keep your shaft from shooting nock high.

You might try wrapping duct tape to the fletch area of your bare shaft until the weight & the balance point matches your fletched arrows and see what happens.

You stated that you could get the bare shaft to fly level, but then the shaft bounces off the arrow rest.  I'm confused.  If the bare shafts are flying level, then doesn't that mean that they're not bouncing off the arrow rest?

I too have difficulty getting rid of nock high past 10 yards.. but at 6 or 7, no problem.

I work on nock high or low in close. Without feathers and shooting 300 grains up front, I believe the arrow is tipping a bit the further out you go.
Once I have my nock height set up, I back up for the remainder of my tuning.

Generally, I already know what I need, but the test for me is having my broadheads and field points flying the same. After that, I watch the shelf and rest over time and make slight adjustments if ever needed.

Even the most consistant archer is not consistent enough to do everything the same from day to day. Wearing yourself out on tuning will just cause you to do things differently than how you would normally shoot.

Chances are good that the nock high is coming from the split finger grip.   I was never able to get rid of my nock high flight while shooting split.
  I agree with most others here.   I'd ignore it and just keep on shooting.

I don’t worry about nock height unless it’s almost standing straight up.I know I have a tendency to torque the string like Ken Beck talks about in his video. One reason I use a raised rest on my recurves except one riser. It’s also harder for me to control using a glove. One way to tell if you are torquing the string is a heavier callus on your ring finger. Yes, I can feel mine now.

Are you shooting with a cant when You are bareshafting? Could be a stiff indication but looking nock high if you are canting. Also as others have said Dont judge the way they stick in. Groups relative to fletched or by flight (slow mo video).

All three of my bows shoot nock high.  I have never been able to cure it.  I shoot a kmag with split fingers.  I have heard more experienced archers say short bows and split fingers tend to lean towards nock high.  I concentrate on left/right and do my best to mitigate the nock high.   

Also if you cant your bow nock high may be in part due to a stiff arrow.

I'm actively working thru the Solid Archery Mechanics course, but I have nock high as well. I can somehow get 500 and 400 spine, full length carbons to shoot well (with feathers and broadheads).

I am thinking the way I shoot, 3 under off of a rest, using a tab for my BW PSAX-something in my form is causing the nock high.

However, im going to take solace in what BigJim said-if broadheads are flying well thats what really matters.
