Penny stoves and stuff
«
on:

I've been cruising the Net getting instructions for making a penny stove (made from pop cans). Anyway I found several You Tube videos on the subject and have made a couple. But I ran onto a website (
www.minibulldesigns.com
) that has a ton of info on pop can stoves and lots of stuff pertaining to home brew backpacking equipment. Stuff us bowhunters can use and will find interesting. Once on the main website click on "My You Tube Videos" for all of them. I'm not peddling the website, just find it enjoyable.

Brilliant site, thanks Tim!
I've been looking for plans for a reliable photon stove for ages.

Yep, Tinny posts a video on the web about every day or so. I have made many stoves and bought a few as well. One of these days I even plan to use one on a trail somewhere LOL. I enjoy playing around with that kind of stuff anyhow. Heiny pots are great for cooking in too.

slick!! check out his "heineken cooking system for newbies" video. would be a great tool for wilderness hunts where light weight gear is imperative. looks easy enough to make on your own.

I haven't seen that much beer hit the ground since Elliot Ness, but the stove looks good.

I bought quite a few 24 oz Heineken at my local store when I first saw the system. I dont like Heiny though, for drinking. Works great for boiling bratwurst prior to grilling though.
A word to the wise. The first time you cook Ramen noodles in a Heiny pot, take it off the fire before you put the seasoning packet in. Big time boil over if you dont. (Dont ask me how I know this LOL)

I looked for the Heiny 24oz at my nearby store this morning and they don't sell them. Rumor has it that another liquor store here in town has them and I was told that Killian comes in the same type of can too. Will have to see tomorrow.

Just made one of the little "cheaper" type stoves out of two soda can bottoms. It worked ! and wow, pretty darned hot too ! That Grinch stove looks awesome. I am gonna try to get the materials to make that one next.
This is cool... thanks !

Here is another good place for info on alcohol stoves. Zen and the art of the alcohol stove. Many different variations with good explanations on benefits and drawbacks to each design.
