Anyone use a tree seat
« on: November 06, 2020, 10:57:50 PM »
Anyone use a seat like the Tree lounger or Muddy seat that straps to a tree?  I’m thinking of using one with some blind material for those times I need a quick set up and don’t have a blind or stand out.

I have 3 torges tree seats and 1 home made seat made from a xop seat mounted on a 1in. square aluminum tube...similar to the platforms the saddle hunters use. that with a ghillie suit make a quick and dirty setup for ground hunting.

I've used the millennium tree seat combined with an ASAT ghillie successfully for the last few years. Lightweight and easy to set up with  different size trees. Make sure you have background cover and I also try to keep the sun in the deer's eyes or at least stay in the shadows.
The essence of the hunt for me is to enter nature and observe+ return safely occasionally with the gift of a life taken.

Thanks.  I have lots of opportunity to do a set up like this over a traditional blind.  I’m still going to have my Ameristep blinds for those rainy and really cold days.  Too nice staying dry and warm in a blind.  But I could have hunted lots more if I was using a tree seat and a Guillory or a set of stakes with blind material.

I bought a Lone Wolf tree seat. Light weight and easy to pack and set-up.

Made a seat out of a folding walker. Put pet screec around front and sides with fake leaves from hobby lobby and spent HOURS making "horsetails" out of cut and bundled twine. Sewed the leaves and 'tails to the walker. Then made a 1x12 pine seat i cross drilled with 1 inch holes. Thst sits on the leg braces which just so happen to be seat height. Padded the seat too. Have a fabric blind that folds up to 1 foot square and built 1/2 inch pvc stakes with paracord guy lines to keep poles stable. Poles are jointed and 3 break down into 6 pcs 2 ft long. That goes into my backpack along with the blind fabric. All my doodads go in the pack as well. The seat stows inside the folded walker which has also been rattle canned camo. A strap attaches the backpack to the walker. And backpack straps mount on the walker to tote it along. Theoretically I could hunt with a camo headnet and camo jacket and my pants arent really seen. So far I am liking it. I also have a hinged Torges tree seat that I made.

I recently bought one of the Millinium tree seats. Very pleased with it although I’m going to put shoulder straps on it to make it less awkward to carry. It’s quiet, light and comfortable. I’ve only used it 3 times , fell asleep 2x.  :banghead:

Hinged Torges seat for me. I've used it on trees as small as 3" in diameter up to some that almost used all the rope! Great way to go.....
