Gorgeous bow. I started with boo-backed Osage, but switched to hickory backing because boo always took a set, and shoots slower than hick. Also, it's harder to work with due to the roundness, ridges, etc. But the darn hick keeps splitting on me, even with moderate designs (little or no r/d). Some hick back lasts forever, and gives more speed, less string follow, and in my humble opinion better looks than boo. But too much of it breaks, so I'm heading back to boo, this time with plenty of back-bend to counteract the follow. What's been your experience in all this? And thanks for the inspiration.
