How did you celebrate New Years day

I had a great day. The weather was good ,temp 28 degrees and sunny. Spent the morning with my old hunting and fishing buddy , stump shooting and we didn’t lose any arrows or break any. Flu flu’s and judopoints keep them from traveling to far under the snow.

Looks like you had a great day. Thanks for the pics. As for me, I flung a few early morning arrows myself before the rain came..

That looks like a good time.
I got up early and cooked ham and eggs for me and my wife. Put some bacon on the pellet grill for her to use with the black eyed peas.
I packed up and drove to the ranch after eating some black eyed peas my wife made.
I sat until 7pm but only saw one little doe and a button buck. It was a pretty sunset.
Fell asleep early and back in the blind.

Canoed 10 miles down a log choked river in freezing rain. Tradition, (canoeing not the rain) for 45 years in a row.

I did very little. We had the grandkids with us for New Year's Eve, so I was in bed by 10:30. On New Year's Day, we had bad weather in the area, including our county. Several tornadic cells hit all around us but missed us. In a neighboring county, a lady was hurt when her mobile home was destroyed. Overall, we were pretty lucky, though.

Spent the day working on turkey calls. Have made the 6 piece box calls in the past and this time working on the 2 piece version. I'll post a pic when there done.

I spent a few hours in my shop cutting up wood to build a bunch of predator calls and getting wood planed and glued up for my nieces next Christmas present.
She mentioned a few days ago that she was looking to get a lyre and I just happened to have a few boards of very nice cherry wood that have been in the shop for about 16 years.

Took a long hike in the desert. Did some roving shooting, lobbed a couple at jackrabbits and made a few coyote calling stands. No coyotes came in (that I saw) but all in all, a fine day in the desert.
