Vintage Arrows
« on: January 06, 2021, 12:02:58 PM »
I bought a bow that came with a bunch of vintage arrows. They were so much prettier back then. Do any of you here shoot vintage arrows ?Here’s a few pics ....

I would replace the nocks if you plan to shoot them. If you want to hold their value keep the original nocks on them but don't shoot them.
I was given some old Bear arrows to go with an ALB I built a few years ago and they shot quite well.

Nice looking arrows Tony.
Just a note of caution, you should inspect and/or replace the old nocks.  The plastic may be dried out and brittle from age, break and cause misfires or worse.

****  Just saw Pat's post as I was typing.   They sure look like collector arrows to me.

The green painted black and green fletched arrows are identical to my first set of hunting arrows in 1967.

I have some of my Granddad's arrows..  with Bear 4 blade razors... hope to use them in the next few years.  I've been sitting on them for 15  years.

Shawn, what did you use for paint, and did you spray/brush/dip?

OK, the minwax, is that an oil base or latex?
