If you where to buy a new Morrison(Longbow) with the foam core limbs would you buy a Shawnee or the ILF system and why? And anyone that has shot both what do you feel is differant about the two?

For me I would buy a Shawnee with foam core longbow limbs because I can get them in heavier draw weights then most ILF limbs.I have seen some 67# foam core limbs on Bob's website I would like to shoot. But that my personal choice,I'm just more of a longbow fan.

Why Dean, you ready to sell one of them??? I get first dibs.  :bigsmyl:   The ILF limbs are alot more versatile with weight and tiller adjustments but I just like the looks and feel of the Shawnee better.

Dean, Bob will soon be doing the longbow limbs with the ILF fitting (if he doesn't have one already). I have also found the deflexed Cheyenne riser to be very forgiving. Add to that the readily available ILF recurve limbs from countless other manufacturers and you have the ultimate in versatility in his ILF riser.

For me though, the shawnee with dakota foam/carbon limbs is THE answer: the ILF connection screws/hardware is ugly...and as far as I know his ILF longbow limbs are still not available...and I shoot the Shawnee better than anything else I've shot.

Good luck in your decision...I'm sure you'll be happy whatever you choose. And then, you can always get one (or more) of each!

Let's be serious Dean we all know you'll end up with one of each for at least a little while.    :biglaugh:

I went for the ILF longbow limbs (don't have em yet, though) because, like JC said, the riser is more deflexed, and the weight adjustment is very nice.  I've had a couple of Shawnees, and the smaller straighter riser was harder for me to shoot accurately.  The ILF with recurve limbs is the best shooting bow I've shot.  I figure with Bob's longbow limbs on it, I can't lose.   :D

I'm not sure if I would call the attachment system "ugly"; maybe functionally appealing instead of aesthetically appealing.
