Bernie Dunn

I just got word that Bernie Dunn went home to be with his beloved jesus.

I was blessed to know Bernie personally in some small ways and met him at B'more Gatherings a time or so, but he was IMO, a true believer and is now at peace and reunited with his Darling Rose..

Lord, in your Mercy, receive your humble servant Bernie into your loving embrace
The words "Child" and "terminal illness" should never share the same sentence! Those who care-do, others question!

  Doc,
  It’s a Sad day to hear this But from what others who have had the opportunity to know Bernie I am sure He is at “Home” and at a better place knowing how things are all twisted around in today’s world.
  He surely had a good heart in the St. Judes Auction and from every picture of him and I believe there is one with you and Bernie at Baltimore years ago he always had a smile.
   May he Rest In Peace and we shine a light as Bernie did so many times here.

I just left this on his FB page.

I remember at ATAR, how tickled Bernie was with that alligator target in the water hole. We go back a long way, in archery, and both of us are wild about horses. I bet he’s got a good’n now.

We have all lost the opportunity to have more time with Bernie, and that is a huge weight on my heart. He used to have me make coffee for him at the shoots, and we would savor it in the early morning as the camp woke up.

Always a gentle man, I never heard him say a disparaging thing about a soul. His kindness shone out, and I can’t think of a way in the world that anybody meeting him would not be happy they did. He would leave you thinking that you might not turn out so bad after all.

Gonna miss those days, funning with Dano, Barb and Bernie and Doc In the early years of TradGang, campfires, woodland trails, thumping targets and swapping bows.

Next time in the woods, I will take his bow, Someone Special, and shoot the arrows he made for her. He will always be with me, even if only shaking his head at something stupid that escaped my mouth. He will always be a glowing example of a kind heart toward his fallible fellows.

God bless his family as they adjust to this sad change.
Sad for us. He is probably on a good horse with his lifelong companion at his side, laughing.

Long, long afterward, in an oak I found the arrow, still unbroke;
And the song, from beginning to end, I found again in the heart of a friend.
