Turkey Head/Neck Shot w/ standard Broadhead
« on: April 24, 2008, 09:09:00 PM »
I've read about the Bullhead type broadheads, but I don't really want to buy some new broadheads. I currently use a Magnus 4-blade 140 which have a 2 1/2 by 1 1/4 inch blade.

I really don't want to wound any animal and do my best to avoid it. I would rather miss than wound one. So I started wondering if maybe I should just aim for a head/neck shot with my current broadheads.

Anyway, what's your opinion? Thanks!

No, if you can hit a moving tennis ball you'll be in good shape.

Lot's of frustration down that road. It can be done but it is an awful small moving target. You'd be better served looking up Guru's string tracker set-up on here if you're worried about losing birds.

Head shots are for 12 gauge Remmingtons...big broadheads in the vitals.

The new Mangus Bullhead works just fine.  Gives you about a 3" diameter for a head/neck shot and they are very sturdy heads.
