Bear Bow Finish?
« on: March 16, 2021, 03:04:59 PM »
I somehow managed to ding the riser on my new Super Kodiak. I'm a woodworker and would love to repair the finish around the ding. Does anyone know what Bear uses for their finish? Thanks!

I was reading a post a few minutes ago about Bear finish cracking. One reply mentioned Bear has been using Laq for years.  IME I “reshaped” my risers grip and lower the shelf on my 2003 SK. I rubbed on very light coats of Tru-Oil finish. I didn’t get to the shiny finish as the bow is dull anyway. It’s been this way for over 10 years now and haven’t had any issues.

I've used Wipe on Poly with excellent results.
