Botched limb alignment .....
« on: March 31, 2021, 01:02:27 PM »
Decided to build myself a new take down. Only have the Bingham drill jig....needless to say its off by around .020. Anyone ever fill the bolt and pin holes on a set of limbs and re drill? Curious if I could fill with smooth on.

Smoth on should work or you could glue in a hardwood dowel or plug then re-drill.  Take care when re-drilling because the bit will want to drift to the softer material.
If I'd known that I would live this long I'd have taken better care of myself.

I’ve glued hard wood dowels in them with smooth on then redrilled. Covered them with a overlay and you couldn’t tell I screwed up. I actually drilled the holes backwards once and had to fix that
