Are all montanas fastflight compatible?

I know the new bear montanas are. But are the older models safe for fast flight strings?

If not, then what year did they begin making them fast flight compatible?

Wood breaks, fiberglass breaks, glues let go, strings do not break bows. BUT some believe differently.

If an older bow breaks with a low stretch string then it's the string, if it breaks with Dacron string then it has to be the bow it's just old, nothing last forever.

Well, I don't know. I guess if they did it would depend on what the overlays are made of? I really don't know. I've never had a bow which I knew was d97 compatible.

It's only been around since the late 90s so probably. Does yours have reinforced tips?

As far as i know, all Bear Montanas have reinforced tips, but even without them, there's a lot of thickness/wood at the string nocks on a longbow.  No problem at all to shoot low stretch strings on them.

You might want to look at the glass, as the brown glass on mine is certainly thicker where the overlay is than it is for the rest of that lam.

Okay, thanks guys. I figured someone would know. I have zero experience with fast flight and d97 (I think they are two different materials?).

You can’t put a 3/4 ton on one (ask me how I know).

When I bought my first  Montana the fella said it was the best bow to use in a tree stand. I asked why and he said “ you don’t need a haul line, you can just throw it out of the tree, won’t hurt it a bit !!”   but really you can use any string you would like !

I had one of the first year Montana’s. Limb tips big enough to use the bow as a walking stick. I used FF strings including “skinny strings” from SBD. Even after I took the tips to a belt sander and narrowed them down I used the same strings. The bow is still being used by its present owner.

I have a Older Montana with the Square handle. It has reinforced tips. Is fast flight compatible.

ALL Montanas are HMPE string "Fast Flight" friendly ... in fact, more so that I and others like due to the Huge, super reinforced limb tips.  A little elbow grease fixes that ...

Personally, these dayze I stick with my own higher strand count B55 Flemish and endless bowstrings.

The problem with low stretch strings is the diameter.
Just pad the loops and get the loop to a bigger diameter and the pressure will be distributed over more surface area of the bow nocks.
