rotating through the rack
« on: May 14, 2021, 09:56:14 AM »
Whenever I bought a new bow; it was because I wanted it, and wanted to shoot it. Why else?
As time goes on, I find myself with favorites that get shot, and the rest gather dust.
So, I have decided that I am going to rotate myself through the rack by shooting a different bow each week at a different 3D course. We have enough shoots to shoot a different one each week.
In the process, I have begun to remember why I bought these bows to begin with. They were made to be shot, and I am having a great time reintroducing myself to some of my old favorites.
Who else pulls their seldomly shot bows off the rack and learns to love them all over again.
I was reading the thread on here by Wudstix, and I didn't want to steal his thread, so I started my own.

With my selection I could do that for over a year, and it would be fun!!

I do it all the time, I'll shoot them for a little while before I put them up and grab another one, but for hunting I stick with one and shoot others periodically

I was keeping a rotation going but health issues and last year’s shutdown has put that on hold. The heavier weight bows are sitting idle until I get my strength back. I have been know before to have as many as 3 bows in the vehicle when going to the range. Arrows as well.
Hey, it’s archery and it’s supposed to be fun especially when your old and hoping you have another 10 years.

Yep.  Have done it for years.  About cut my inventory in half over the last year or so.  Now have fewer than a dozen bows. Does that mean I'm having less fun?  :goldtooth:

Like others I have my current hunting bow and then others I shoot periodically.  There is one I took in a trade which is lighter poundage for later when needed.  My stable is small.

I like going to the rack at this time of the year and picking up a bow or two and taking them out for a stroll to shoot awhile but come August I pick the bow that will hunt that fall. The others look on in a jealous state until maybe the freezer gets some fresh then we start over again with which gets the nod.
The essence of the hunt for me is to enter nature and observe+ return safely occasionally with the gift of a life taken.
