Timber Rattler
« on: May 21, 2021, 04:03:26 PM »
One of my buddy's gave me this at the Coffee shop this morning, road kill on the way.
He's still moving and does not want to be upside down so I put his a$$ in the freezer for a while

Boy, that's a beauty. Looks like he(she) just shed it skin.
 Is the head cut off? If not do so and be careful with it. It can still bite you. I always cut off the head and bury it deep.

Nice.
A buddy of mine almost died from a rattler bite 2 years ago.
He was 2 miles in and alone when he got bit.
Messed him up big time.

Can you split them down middle and have matching skins for both limbs?
Stay sharp, Kenny.

Boy that was luck that your buddy just ran over the head of that speed snake that must have been moving across the road at 20,30 mph :laugh:

I always split them down the middle and have plenty to match both limbs.

Here is the last one I did that way;

Timber rattlers are my favorite backing skin and I usually split them down the middle for a matched set.
