An apology from the ASTB
« on: April 28, 2008, 08:33:00 AM »
I wanted to take this opportunity to apologize for the scoring error that was made this past weekend. I as president was not as vigilant in entering the scores as I needed to be and in turn several error were made that caused some people to lose their standing and thus they did not receive a trophy not to mention it was embarassing to our club. I will not go into the details, suffices to say that I will work harder at our future shoots to ensure that this does not happen again.

Take care

You folks do a good thing with the Children's Benefit event.
I thought it was a great event, most folks appreciate the efforts of your club, especially for this particular event.
Anyone who has not made an error might try to run an event some time.

It's just one of thoes things that happens because we are all HUMAN.I appreciate your efforts to make things right and look forward to the next shoot. No reason to beat yourself up about it.

The main thing is that we were all able to raise funds to help some children in need. When I think of the problems and heart'ache of the parents of some of thoes children,it makes something like a scoring error extremly trivial.

Have a great day my friend

That's why we don't score. We just shoot and have fun.

Randy- How did you finish?
Banshees finished first in Men's longbow and Juniors, and took second in Womens' longbow. Maybe you should have had a Banshee in your hands!

Abe, Ya'll did a great job!  I didn't see a whole lot of folks running to give a hand.  Wish I could have done more.  Ya'll did good!

I will speak for the four of us.... We had a great time, dodged the rain, shot like we had never held a bow before ? We skipped breakfast, maybe that was it ???

I agree with everyone above, the main thing is the money raised for the kids !

Scott, thanks for letting me shoot your sweet little banshee, sure did like them bows. Thanks to Sipsey River as well, shot one of their banshees too. John as always is more than happy to string up anything he has for you to test drive. Even let me borrow a glove for a while to save me a trip back to the truck.

Got another chance to hang out with our bud Doug Witcher of Turkey Creek Longbows and his son , Harry. Harry put the smack down on them animals ! We have nicknamed the bow Doug made for Skyler last year.... " Blur ". Man is that bow fast, even with Sky drawing 25" !!!

Wished we could have stayed longer, had to drag Mason away from Bill, Troy, and the rock pile. That boy sure likes bustin rock ! If Gas is not $5 a gallon and not too hot maybe we can come back in August ?

Jimmy, I enjoyed talking to you, Don and Skyler. Ya'll are more than welcome to shoot my bow and share our camp anytime. We brothers of the left hand have to stick together    That Banshee is one sweet little bow. I would like to come to Tennesee this weekend but I don't think I can make it happen. I had too much fun and my knee is giving me fits right now.

Scott,
Get that knee taken care of. I must have had too much fun too, my shoulders were pretty stiff by evening, too many arrows and too old ! If you do get to feeling better come see us. We will be watching Mason and Skyler make yeller shavings. They want to build them a osage selfbow this year to match the hickories they built last year.

Hopefully we can come back to ASTB in August. Sure do love Tannehill area. It was good to meet your brother and his son too.   :archer:
