Yesterday was a great day, New Bow Day!!!
« on: June 04, 2021, 03:06:39 PM »
My New Custom Primal Tech arrived.

I know for me whether its a new or new to me bow when it arrives its exciting but this time is different. This is my 5th custom bow and 4th bowyer I've worked with. This was the first time I worked with Primal Tech and with out question the best build experience I have EVER had. He was more than patient with me on wood selection and went above and beyond with the effort to find the prefect pieces. After just a couple conversation I could tell he could picture the desired finished product I had in my mind, even down to the little tweaks to the grip shape. Not only is he a great craftsman but his overall customer service is on a different level. I've been in the customer service field for 25+ years and can only hope my customers feel this good after working with me. I can not say enough good things about my experience with Randy and Primal Tech and can't wait for the next build.

As for the bow it arrived securely packaged and a day early. My first impression was it looked better than in the many pictures he sent throughout the build. After I was able to get my little ones down I ran out to my shop to sling a few arrows. I had every intent of spending my weekend tuning but after the first 5 shots ending up in a 2" group I pulled the paper tuner out. Much to my surprise with the brace high where I was told to put it and arrows tuned for a different bow of the same poundage it was shooting bullet holes. Several hours later my wife came out to tell me good night and remind me I had to work tomorrow. I truly felt like a little kid who was just told to put down the new toy and go to bed.  :biglaugh: So far with only 50-60 arrows through it I'm just as impressed with the performance as the experience. It's smooth draw cycle has no stacking, finger pitch, or hand shock and seems to be putting these 528gn arrows down rang with a quickness. I'm very much looking forward to shooting this 60" 44lb @ 28 2pc Primal Tech for many years to come.

I highly recommend anyone who reads this and is looking for a new custom bow to consider Primal Tech. I've know of Primal Tech for a few year but made the expensive mistake twice of overlooking his bows. Twice I purchased custom 2pc longbows from very well know companies/builders and didn't get near the customer service during the build or attention to detail of the build as I did with Primal Tech.

How many of you Trad Gang members can agree and have experienced the same level of service? Lets see those Primal Tech's!

Beautiful bow and thank you for all of the info about it and the build process. He’s on my short list to try if I get back to that style of bow. Enjoy it!

Randy is a class act. I’ve shot a few of his bows at A hunt couple years back. Nice bows. Exceedingly beautiful.
Nothing clears a troubled mind like shooting a bow.

Knock out looking bow.  I must say I've had an equally enjoyable experience with Bob Sarrells.  Sometimes the journey is just as enjoyable as the destination.  THAT is part of what makes custom work worth it. I hope you get the opportunity to hunt your new toy a lot.
