lot harder than it looks!
« on: April 30, 2008, 04:53:00 PM »
yeah, forgot about feathers being so.... flimsy!  :knothead:  (when your cutting them anyways....)

i decided i was going to cut my own fletchings this year. NOT MY BRIGHTEST IDEA EVER! :readit:  so now im stuck with full length feathers my little cardboard cutout, and a pair of scissors.

im about ready to drop $23.50 on one of those traditional left wing choppers from 3Rivers. one more try though.....

any suggestions?

When I am in camp I just use scissors and cut once the feather is on the shaft. It is a simple straight cut angling down the top, and I may bob the rear point for finger clearance.

I suppose you could use masking tape or something like it for a guide.
