To each his own but imo these things are the cats meow. As stated in another post I’m a hunter ed instructor. I def value any and all safety aspects. Being that’s said I’ll say this is only a short term impression. Putting on and carry rock climbing harness much easier. Less bulky, less complicated and lighter, plus cheaper
Climbing, easier or as easy as a full body harness. I haven’t used any lineman’s. Strictly tie a cinching knot to tree, clip my caribiner to harness and a Prussic in between. I’ll put rope up high and as I climb slide prussic up than adjust.
Once in a tree , you can adjust it easier so youre always snug. Less movement involved. Being youre able to stay tight you don’t fall as youre limited there.
I’ve had a brain issue, equilibrium is off. Dark doesn’t help. In the tree for hour and half typical sit before daylight was challenging. Now I keep rope by right shoulder, run rope up in front of me and I’m essentially snug/held tight to tree. Pretty comforting.
Another great aspect. It’s cold this morn. I can add clothes easily. Can as easily remove em too and I don’t have a giant open spot where harness ran up back under the now worn jacket.
I grew up in the baker era. We used belts at most. Not recommending that but one thing I always hated bout harnesses was restricting or getting in my draw elbow way. If you brought belt down and you fell you’d have too much slack. Make reentry into a stand tougher and fall more dangerous.
Once it gets daylight the rock climbing harness is lowered to my ribs area. Prussic knot takes up slack. Shooting is easy and unrestricted. If you’re on the fence. Step over and get yourself a rock climbing harness
