Waldrop Pac Seat
« on: October 23, 2021, 09:03:31 AM »
Has anyone compared the Waldrop Pac seat to the old Magnus Rack Pack? I am interested in the Pac seat, but I already have the Magnus, and I wonder if the Waldrop is genuinely worth the investment since I already have the Magnus?

Magnus seat is made in china, a cheap knock off of the Waldrop. Magnus makes this claim...

" the original rackpack was made in China".

And, "We also looked at different factories out of the United States to have them made and the quality just is not there".

Waldrop's quality is superior by far and is made in USA.

I saw the magnus at a show a couple of years ago, and its chinese junk compared to what Mr. Waldrop makes.

I bought one years ago. Solid as the day I received it. In my experience most things that are cheap aren’t good, and most things that are good aren’t cheap. I love mine and if I lost it I would order another tomorrow.

same here I bought one maybe 2yrs ago now and I was hesitant at first because I was using a nifty seat for years but the waldrop is an awesome seat!!!  I have a quiet backpack strapped to the back of mine so I just grab it and go and it has everything needed for a ground hunt right there..    and honestly  I think its safe to say that if someone didn't like a pac seat for whatever reason they could easily sell it here for a full return of their money to someone who wanted one now....and that seat would be gone in a few days at the most.

I finally got one.  It is useful, and a great place to sling my Bison gear Lost River.  Good for "wander" hunting and gives you a place to sit no matter where you stop.  Pretty great for carrying out a small hog, under 80 pounds live weight.

Would be the last piece of hunting gear I’d part with second only to my bow.  Most people think a 4 wheeler and an automatic feeder are whitetail hunting essentials.  I say a Waldrop pac seat is an essential.

I have them both and if I could have only one it would be the Waldrop seat. That said, I use the Magnus chair in a turkey blind as I feel its more comfortable as a stand alone chair as it has a head rest.

The Waldrop seat is superior when you can lean it against the tree.

I wish I could find another Magnus chair in good condition as there will always be a need for it in my type of hunting. The one I have isn't going to last forever.

You mean they actually make other seats?  :biglaugh: :biglaugh: :biglaugh:

Also great seat just to have in your vehicle for enjoying lunch.  No way commies are building anything better than Dave's.  :readit:
