Shrew camp was a very short season this year and the only deer killed in camp was taken before Roger and I got there by Greg Nikolaou.

I know many of you look forward to the stories every year so I'm sorry for not living up to the tradition

Greg's deer

Dinner for company on Wensday night was a whole deer cooked ok Kevin's rotisserie

Sorry y'all didn't get to enjoy the full camp orba heavy meat pole.  Sometimes life gets in the way.
I can afford to shoot most any bow I like.  And I like Primal Tech bows.

Like I said it was a strange year, I had my hunts all planned out then I spent two of my three days sick in bed. I never left camp to hunt. I guess you just have to take life as it's dished out to you. When we left camp on Friday, they loaded me and all my stuff and Roger drove my truck all the way home....I slept most of the way

Friends are a blessing when you need them.

And congrats to Greg too!

We still had fun! I squeezed every minute I could into our quick hunt. I saw 2 different bucks, a handful of does,(I even had a chance to miss one) and a fat black bear (where was he 3 weeks ago when my son Danny and I were up there with a bear tag?).

I do the hang and hunt system....so I jumped around to a few spots up on Banana Ridge, and saw deer every sit.

The food was great, the friendship awesome! Next year!!!!

Ron, you may be disappointed with this years hunt, but you are still the  envy of many of us. Good friends, good food, a warm cabin, and lots of memories. God is good.       :archer2: :shaka: :archer2:

I find Shrew Haven camp stories to be nostalgically magical. What a treat and honor to be among those in camp. You all should cherish every second of it and it sounds like you guys made the most of it this year despite the hardships. Ron I hope you recover soon!

Sometimes, I think the unproductive outings make the successful hunts that much more precious.
