Don’t forget...

Don’t forget to always follow your shot process. Doesn’t matter how close the deer is, you can still screw things up. I made a rookie mistake yesterday and rushed my shot on a very nice buck....at 2 yards. I didn’t pick a spot and I short drew. Needless to say, I screwed it up. Still sick about it.

I’m with you. It’s sometimes hard to maintain your form under that pressure. I rushed 2 shots this year and shot high both times.

Good advice.
I can afford to shoot most any bow I like.  And I like Primal Tech bows.

Amen to that……Missed a 160”+ deer couple weeks ago at 12 yards, hadn’t been in my stand for 5 minutes and had a doe walk by, I was about to shoot her but heard something to my right, there he was. Followed the doe right thru my shooting lane like clockwork. I pulled back and everything else is a blank, just missed over his back. I shoot with a pretty dedicated step by step shot sequence but when the mind isn’t prepared to walk you through those steps, buck fever, target panic occurs. I focused so much on the steps to make a good, I hadn’t prepared myself mentally to go thru them when the opportunity came.
