New Bow;
« on: February 20, 2022, 07:01:28 AM »
On Sat 19th I went with a friend To Bishop Auckland at the Merlin Archery warehouse to buy a new bow.
We tried about ten, all European makes, Bearpaw, Kaiser, Bodnick, etc.
He eventually bought a Kaiser reflex/deflex 68'' flatbow, which he was very pleased with,
also some M.A.C. carbon arrows and other bits and pieces for 3-D shooting.
I was told by one of the staff that a local man bought a Black Widow with postage import duty/tax
he had another 500.00 pounds extra to pay to get customs to hand it over.
A very pricey bow. :nono:

I guess it's the same everywhere with tariffs and taxes.
My bowyer lives not only right here in the USofA but even more importantly,  right here in the great state of Texas

Any pics of your friend's bow?
I can afford to shoot most any bow I like.  And I like Primal Tech bows.

Have a look at  Merlin Archery U.K
You can see the bows on there.

Did your friend consider Border?  I've admired them from afar, but have never bought one for the same problems in reverse that you mentioned with buying a Black Widow in the UK.

McDave,

No he didn't, they are very good bows and a good reputation
but also expensive, about one thousand pounds.
