Winter Lion hunt
« on: February 20, 2022, 11:01:19 AM »
Haven’t posted for quite awhile. Figured you might like to see some pictures of my recent lion hunt. I treed the cat with my Drahthaar Cain. The last few winters he has been doing great as a solo lion dog. As well as the best all around pup I could ever hope to have.   Used a 56” Timberghost I picked up used here. And some Simmons safaris on axis 500s.
This was a old mature female who spent too much time lurking around my friends house and ranch buildings.  We started the track 50 yards from my buddy’s front door.

Congrats!!

She was old!!  Probably would have become a problem eventually for your bud.
Stay sharp, Kenny.

Way to go.  That dog is outstanding.  Those teeth look plumb wore out.

Good cat to get down.  She would have been eating all the easy targets around your friends house.

Very impressive with a solo dog, no less.  If we had a dog like yours, it would be sleeping on the bed with my wife every night. She knows that, so she would not let me get one.

I would like to get a Drahthaar, but don't think I'd give him enough work to keep him happy.  Nice dog.
