So I made the two hour drive down from western Maryland on Saturday to the Baltimore Bowmen Traditional Classic to meet up with some archery buddies, one of which I've know since 10th grade in high school (we graduated in 1984). Last year "Killdeer" Kathy was looking for someone to get here an event t-shirt and send it to her. So I picked up one for her, mailed it to her and told her she owed me nothing; just "pay it forward." Fast forward to yesterday: I text her and tell her I'm on site and maybe we could put faces to names. Welp, in about ten minutes she shows up, we meet and, despite my protests, she hands me this badboy:
Well of course I was floored at the sight of this book! Again I insisted that it was not necessary so Kathy "pulled rank" on me and insisted I take it as a "thank you" for the 2021 cicada logo BBTC shirt. So Kathy, it was a pleasure to meet you ma'am! I'm glad you enjoyed and continue to enjoy that very unique logo'd BBTC shirt!
And here's the "Unicorn" I shot. This pic of me: I shot and hit the vitals on a target but we all heard a metallic sound. I hit too far from the metal stakes that run up through the legs so we knew it wasn't that (I jokingly said "I hit the ribs!"). When the arrow was pulled, my field point had actually went into someone's field point that broke off their wooden shaft inside the target. My point was stuck in the wood down inside the point...had to use a buddy's pliers to separate them. What are the chances I'll ever do that again...slim to none and slim left town!
So myself and my brothers in our club in western Maryland (Cumberland Bowhunters Club) are already looking forward to the criminally underrated Memorial Day weekend shoot in Greencastle, PA....and then STAR and ETAR!
