I bought one of the newer versions of t-shirts  as soon as they were announced, to go with my older Holm-made ones.
Chad replied back - he remembered  me from when I asked him some questions about a used Osprey I bought years earlier.

Think of him often for that.

Martin-Hunter & Bamboo Viper, Black Widow Camo PLX, Holm-made Osprey, Toelke-SS #5 & Super D, Brackenbury Drifter, Wes Wallace Mentor, Kimber Huntsman,  Rose Oak-Wildcat II, Ocelot, Ace & 2 Heritage TDs, Bear-'67½  SK & '59 Kodiak Special - all LH

I met Chad at the first Kzoo show I attended as a fellow vendor. He was such a friendly person that I made sure to look him up at each show I attended thereafter. About 6 months ago, I reached out to him to record a podcast on building bows to inspire future bowyers. I could have called any number of other bowyers, but I knew his easy going nature and his background as a teacher would make a great pairing. I'm so glad that I did, I would have forever kicked myself had I called someone else. It has been great to be able to listen back to it.

always wanted to try one of his River Runners. sad that I probably never will get to. I know he was extremely well-respected and a heck of a bowyer.

I own 4 of Chad's bows.  Three River Runner recurves and a Goshawk longbow.  As I look at and handle each bow, I can imagine the expert hand and eye of Chad as he completed each bow building step.  What a craftsman!

I shot a forkie with one of Chad"s Osprey longbows last fall. I met him at an annual 3d shoot in Horicon,Wi.about 5 years ago. I am sometimes a bit uncomfortable talking to people that i meet for the first time. Not with Chad. It was like i had known him my whole life. Easy going and just a great guy. I miss him also and hope his line of bows continues!

Chad was a great guy. He came down and hunted pigs with me and Irv several times.
We talked a lot about the teaching profession and of course, trad archery and hunting.
Such a huge loss to our community of like minded folks.
