turkey hunting taking the shot question
« on: April 16, 2022, 07:41:47 AM »
i will be turkey hunting bow only this year without a blind. i have been practicing both sitting ( stool ) and kneeling shots from one knee and both.  i plan on setting until i have them coming in and going to one knee well before the shot. i have multiple setups in mind using "natural blinds" .  i am ready for the challenge but no doubt will be extremely difficult! any advice or tips??

If legal use a jake decoy to draw their attention away from you.

Yes!!! I put them close too,  10-12 yards at the most from the blind.  I use 2 hens and a jake.  Camo matters here!

Yup, they may be close, but you still don't shoot at the bird, you have to pick a spot..... :shaka:

Get yourself a kneepad from the hardware store and equip it on the hunt. Lets you stay in position without the searing pain in your kneecap.

I gotta agree with Eric, Brother!!

Break the spine, take out the legs. They flap alot, but they can't fly...  :archer:
I only shoot WOOD arrows... My kid makes them, fast as I can break them!

There is a fine line between Hunting, & Sitting there looking Stupid...
