Hell I am in trouble I carry a pocket knife and a neck knife I have a knife on my arm guard that Tim Roberts made me a one in my pack. Did I mentioned I am a bit of a knife nut  .

Heck look at it this way ...... with all those blades handy,  you don't need to ever carry a knife sharpener 

I hope I never fall in water over my head might be in trouble

I have a couple laying around the house somewhere Terry,  when I get back to the house I'll try to hunt one down and take a pic ...... it's a just a plain ole beaded chain like you've seen for key chains and such......nothing fancy,  just alot longer.  I don't use those anymore but have in the past.  I prefer the cord.  The chain will break if yanked on with some force.  It's not gonna feel too nice around your neck if that happens,  but it will give and snap with force.

One nice thing about the chain though is that it won't absorb sweat.
AND another plus to the cord,  if you are in a bind,  that para cord can be sacrificed temporarily or permanently to be used in a lot more ways than the beaded chain can.  Bow drill for friction fire,  lashing/cordage,  you can pull the inner strands from the cordage and utilize those as well.  550 is a fantastic survival item. With the adjustable knot design,  a portion of the necklace is double stranded,  so you end up with a decent length of cord to have handy when it's untied and straightened out.

I bought the Mora Eldris neck knife bundle a while back and really like it. It came hair popping sharp out the box. Like some people here I use it mainly when saddle hunting or canoeing and want to have something easily accessible if things go side ways. For the money it's really good knife though a bit ugly.

Good point 
If I can find these things, I’d consider doing a short video of pulling constant pressure on one til it gives.  If I remember correctly it’ll pull through the clasp connection piece and you could close it back up with needle nose.....

I just pulled this one off my neck. It’s an old Doug Campbell. He usually hangs around my rearview mirror when I’m not using it. No telling how many times I’ve used it… more like abused it actually. It has magnets in the sheath to help with retention. I think I’ll clean it up and give it a sharpen.

Just got a call from the Boss, and he asked me to post a pic of my Spyderco.  I've been hiking on the AT for a few days (22/4-3/5) and was not on the Net.  This is the knife I wear most often and had on at the LTR this year.  I like the handle, blade length is great for a necker.  It came with a leather belt sheath, but I had a Kydec sheath made for it, clicks right in solid.

This is the Bow River, 4.4" blade, 3.8" edge, 8Cr13Mov stainless, 3.9 oz., Black and grey G10 scales.  Really like the handle.  Currently, $46 on Amazon.  Custom Kydex was made by On Your 6, a gun holster company here in SA TX.

Terry there’s ton of kydex outfits out there,  you won’t have a problem ever,  finding someone to crank you out a sheath for just about anything!  If you go looking,  check out Grizzly Outdoors..... they make the nicest stuff I’ve ever seen and I’ve seen A LOT!  Great family business to work with as well.  You’ll wait a few weeks,  but 100% worth it
