American Leathers site update
« on: July 19, 2022, 07:30:08 AM »
I just clicked on their banner to see if they had anything new and saw they had upgraded their site.  Pretty cool with great descriptions of all their gloves.  I really didn't know they had all those options. I've been using these for years and they are great gloves that are hard to wear out. Big shout out to them!

Nice!!!  The Full shot looks good for you Northern fellas, not so much for Texas!  Do I really need another AL glove?

 :thumbsup: I like the new site, I was thinking the same thing about the Full Shot Wud. I may be making another call.   :goldtooth:  I have been very impressed with the used Crossover I bought from the classifieds and the one I special ordered without the plastic inserts.  Great people to deal with, and a great product.

I have the Elk Bigshot and Kangaroo Crossover without plastic stalls, either one will last me a lifetime.

Nice to see the options available. I had an older Elk crossover refurbished a few months ago. The original I bought from the original owner, one of Schultz’s boys, figured it still had life in it. Although the Elk leather shades are different the glove is as good or better that original. The wider straps is a welcome improvement as well.

I’ve been thinking about buying a kangaroo krossover. Can anyone tell me what the difference is between the plastic insert and the buffalo leather insert? Is one better than the other for feel or a cleaner release?
I’m currently shooting with two of the elk Big Shot gloves. They’re great, but the nylon facing on one of them is getting a bit tattered.
Thanks.
Dave.

Dave;
I got my Kangaroo Crossover with inner layer in Buffalo, and it has a great feel.  This was before it was a standard option.  I also have an Elk Bigshot which I like as well.  Personally, the leather layers give me the string feel I desire.  My bows range from 63-71#, so the leather layering is substantial enough to protect, but still give a very smooth release.  IMVHO, your mileage may vary.  I never tried the plastic insert, but didn't think that would be needed.

Thanks. That’s what I was hoping to hear. I’ve been thinking about buying one for some time. As my older glove wears, I sometimes wonder if the loose nylon might catch in the bow string. I think I’ll be ordering one.

I am a nylon tab shooter and these gloves have almost converted me!  There were several of us requesting the three leather layer on the Kangaroo Crossover, so it is now an option.  Mine only has a couple hundred arrows through it, so is slowly getting broken in.  I think you'd like it.  Great quality produce.

I have one of the original Kangaroo crossover gloves. It had the nylon inserts. I was told it was a thinner nylon than is available. That nylon was perfect for my 55#-60# bows. Unfortunately it crumbled up finally. I asked about no nylon on the refurbish job , they suggested the leather which has worked out great.

Quality and customer service!
I've had 3 full shot gloves and I have nothing but good things to say about them!

Good luck,  Shoot straight, and God bless,
